It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Judy Lieb, a beloved pillar of the Thomasboro Grade School community. A resident of the Rock Hill area, Judy was much more than a dedicated educator; she was a guiding light for generations of students, staff, and families.
For more than 30 years, Judy served as our school librarian. While her title defined her role, it could never fully capture her essence. To the students who walked through her doors, she was a gentle presence and a welcoming smile—a constant, soothing reminder that a single act of kindness can transform a person’s entire day.
Judy possessed a remarkable gift for making school feel like a second home. She was an artist of the heart, creating beautiful decorations that transformed our hallways and library into spaces filled with warmth, creativity, and wonder. She was never too busy to lend a helping hand, regardless of the task, always giving selflessly of her time and energy to those around her.
Her passion for literacy was matched only by her love for her students. Judy believed the library was a sacred space where curiosity could flourish and every child could discover the lifelong joy of learning. Countless alumni will forever carry with them the memory of her patience, her encouragement, and the quiet way she helped them navigate the magic found within the pages of their favorite books.
